5 Essential Tips for Your First Night in Orbis
Stepping into Hytale’s Zone 1 (Emerald Grove) can be breathtaking, but don’t let the scenery distract you for too long. Night falls quickly, and the dangers of Orbis wake up with the moon.
Here are 5 tips to ensure you see the sunrise on Day 2.
1. Punch Foliage, Not Trees (At First)
Unlike that other block game, punching solid oak trees takes forever without a tool. Instead, look for Sticks on the ground or break smaller bushes to gather your initial wood supply. This saves precious daylight.
2. Secure a Light Source
Darkness in Hytale is… distinctively dark.
- Torches: Craft them early.
- Campfires: Not just for cooking! They provide a wider radius of light and comfort regeneration.
3. Don’t Ignore the Kweebecs
Those cute little plant people? They are your friends. If you find a Kweebec village, you might find shelter. Do not cut down their trees nearby, or you will turn friends into formidable foes.
Pro Tip: Kweebecs often have spare food if you trade appropriately.
4. Watch Your Stamina
Combat in Hytale uses stamina. Sprinting uses stamina. If you exhaust yourself running from a Trork, you won’t have the energy to fight back. Walk when you can, sprint when you must.
5. Build Vertical
If you can’t find a cave or build a house in time, build up. Many ground-level predators can’t climb vertical pillars. A simple 3-block high pillar can keep you safe from basic wolves and spiders until dawn.
Good luck, adventurer!
